About Me
I’m Alexander Georgoulakis, but most people just call me Geo.
My start in film wasn’t exactly high-tech. I grew up in San Antonio, and my first real "production" job was as the Public Affairs Officer for my high school’s AFJROTC. I spent my Friday nights on the sidelines of football games with a camera that honestly couldn't handle the action. Since I didn't have the gear to make things look professional on set, I had to figure out how to "fix it in post." I spent countless hours in the Adobe Suite just trying to make my footage pop, and that’s where I fell in love with the process of brewing a story from nothing.
Now that I’m finishing up at SCAD Atlanta, I’ve realized I’m at my best when I’m being technically challenged. I’ve already stepped into leadership as a Post Production Supervisor on two TV series, which taught me how to manage a crew and a pipeline from start to finish.
But I’m not someone who wants to stay tucked away in an edit suite all the time. I love being on set, which is why I’ve been diving deep into the DIT role. I’m drawn to the technical challenge of it, knowing the sensor, the color science, and the data architecture inside and out. For me, being a DIT is about being the first stride in a truly organized post workflow and building those connections with the camera team while the pressure is on.
I’m a big believer in a people-first approach. I lead with a collaborative spirit and focus on building real connections with the people I work with, regardless of where I am in the process.
When I’m off the clock, I’m usually at the beach, playing video games, or catching up on film and TV. I’m always trying to learn something new, whether it’s a better workflow or a new hobby. My long-term goal is to open a post-production studio where technical grit meets high-end storytelling.
